Background

Ashley Blas is the Assistant Director of the Taxpayer Assistance Program (TAP), where she is dedicated to assisting underserved communities with a variety of tax issues, including collections, appeals, liens, identity theft, and examinations. Her work centers on advocating for taxpayers and protecting their legal rights.

Before joining the TAP, Ashley served as the Legislative Resource Attorney for the Joint Citizens and Legislative Committee on Children. In this role, she collaborated with policymakers, service providers, and stakeholders to identify the most pressing needs of children in South Carolina, making policy and legislative recommendations to improve the lives of the state’s youngest citizens.

Ashley earned her law degree cum laude from the University of Toledo College of Law, where she also served as the Managing Editor of the University of Toledo Law Review. Additionally, she holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan.
