Kelley is a Columbia native and a graduate of the Honors College; she was an economics major and wrote her senior thesis on Hamlet. She holds a master’s degree in English from Wake Forest University. She has worked at the University of South Carolina for four years and served as the Program Lead for the Global Fellows Living and Learning Community as well as an instructor in the first-year English program at USC for the last three years.

Kelley is passionate about teaching academic writing and research. During her time at Wake Forest, Kelley served as a graduate assistant in the Writing Center, where she supervised writing tutors and tutored students in writing consultations. She enjoys supporting her English 101 and 102 students in developing their voices as academic writers and learning to participate meaningfully in scholarly conversations. In her free time, Kelley enjoys reading, hosting a lively weekly book club and swimming in the Saluda.
