Our students and faculty regularly win prestigious awards thanks to the vigorous educational and research opportunities available at our school. 

  • For the second year in a row, the Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy ranked in the top 50 anatomy and cell biology departments in the country with over $2.5 million in NIH funding
  • Dr. Colin Evans a new Assistant Professor in the department, has received a grant from the American Heart Association Second Century Early Faculty Independence program titled “Promoting endothelial regeneration and vascular repair after inflammatory lung injury”  
  • Dr. Wenbin Tan has received R21 funding from NIH for the project "Generation and validation of disease models for Port-Wine birthmarks"
  • Dr. Mohamad Azhar has received pilot project funding from both the SCBioCraft COBRE at Clemson and the Center for Targeted Therapeutics COBRE in the Department of Pharmacy.
  • Dr. Camilla Wenceslau has received grant funding through the Alzheimer's Association Research Grant - New to the Field Program
