The Class

Taught by: Margaret L. Hughes (Laura) MA, Thomas M. Hughes (Tom), J.D.

Pre-requisites: There is no prerequisite for this course.

Course attributes: To be announced

This course will focus on providing both a foundational knowledge of the ancient history, art, and architecture of Egypt, and of this great culture as a modern, globalized society. Egypt, the largest and most populous country in the Arab world, is also the third most populous country in Africa. The three Abrahamic religions overlap here in a dynamic, modern business culture as a truly diverse crossroads of three continents.

Egypt is a cultural force, a modern society in a strategic and sometimes-challenging neighborhood. We will focus on how Ancient Egypt’s history, art, and architecture define the modern nation today and we will look at the ways in which Egypt has become an important regional, political, and international business hub. By studying ancient Egyptian, history, architecture and art, we can better understand the country it is today.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
