Background
Shana Watson spent four years teaching first grade in Orangeburg and Richland county school districts where she was nominated for 2017-2018 teacher of the year prior to working at USC. Shana has worked at the university for seven years in a variety of roles: senior advisor for graduate programs of the School of Information Science, assistant principal of Rhodos Fellows Living Learning Community, and adjunct faculty for the College of information and Communications.
Teaching
Watson is an instructor for the University 101 Program and teaches University 101 . Watson is also an adjunct instructor for the School of Information Science and teaches Storytelling: Theory, Practice, and Development, Children’s Literature, and LIS internships.

Personal
In her free time, Watson enjoys reading, teaching yoga, traveling, true crime podcasts and documentaries. She lives in downtown Columbia with her daughter and two dogs, Boss and Phoebe.
