About the Program

The Claflin 4+1 Pathway was created in fall 2020 between South Carolina's flagship university in Columbia and Claflin University to expose underrepresented students to a degree opportunity, as well as to contribute to a pipeline of students in the profession. Students earn their undergraduate degree at Claflin and a master’s degree in journalism and mass communications or in library and information science in five years.
