Nefi Reyes

Nefi Reyes is a first-year PhD student in Spanish at the University of South Carolina-Columbia. He holds a BA in Spanish from Utah State University and an MA in Spanish from the University of Notre Dame. His research interests are Afro-Caribbean contemporary literature, Garifuna literature, and decolonial studies. He is also interested in exploring the Dominican canon to discover works by canonical authors lacking literary analysis. Nefi has taught Beginning and Intermediate Spanish, and AP Spanish both traditionally and online. He co-authored the published article “Exploring the Transformative Impact of Language Teachers' Autoethnographies in a Teacher Education Course” in Insight Journal.
