Frimpomaa Nhyira Hannah is a doctoral student of Comparative Studies in English, French and Spanish at the University of South Carolina, Columbia. Hannah grew up in Ghana where she attended the University of Ghana, Legon and graduated with a Bachelor of French and Spanish after spending a semester abroad studying translation and intercultural mediation at the Universidad de Cádiz, Spain. She then pursued a master’s in Spanish literature at the University of Missouri, Columbia. Her interests are in colonial literature, discourse analysis, Foucault and emerging forms of media. She aims to find the intersection between the various types of conflict-ridden discourse that are emerging from social media interaction, creating gaps in understanding and peaceful discourse. She is also passionate about foreign language learning and instruction. Currently, she teaches French and Spanish language courses as well as Values and Ethics in Literature.
