Alicia Bervine is the Executive Director of Human Resources for the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Support at the University of South Carolina, supporting a diverse workforce of over 500 full-time employees, 300 temporary employees, and 2,000 students. In this role, she provides strategic and tactical guidance to division leadership, ensuring that the Human Resources Department evolves beyond compliance to meet the demands of a competitive and dynamic work environment.

Alicia is responsible for strategic human resources planning, policies, procedures, and professional development. She fosters an environment that prioritizes talent management, retention, inclusivity, equity, wellness, and ongoing professional growth for staff and students.

As a visionary leader with over 20 years of experience, Alicia is deeply committed to driving cultural transformation and fostering a high-trust organizational culture. She serves as an advisor and strategic partner to division administration, advocating for practices that positively impact employees while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws.

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Alicia holds a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University and a master’s degree in Human Resources from Fordham University. She is also a dedicated community servant and an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Prior to joining USC, Alicia spent a year as a consultant for Palmetto GBA and 16 years at JPMorgan. She has been with the university for over 16 years.
