Research and Teaching Interests
Dr. Davis’s research uses qualitative and quantitative methods to better understand how culture, race, and ethnicity influence health behavior and health promotion, with a particular focus on using culturally tailored health communication to redress nutrition-related health disparities affecting Latino populations. Dr. Davis’s research addresses topics such as cultural influences on childhood obesity, the development of bilingual assessment tools, culturally tailored health communication, nutrition communication, food labeling, and culturally associated measurement error in health surveys. She teaches graduate courses in research methods.
