Apply for the Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing's weeklong program & annual scholarship! This valuable experience prepares first-generation engineering and computing students for their first semester at USC just before fall classes begin!

Program Dates:

Monday, August 12 - Friday, August 16, 2024

Eligibility:

  • Must be a first-generation college student
  • Must declare an engineering or computing major
  • Must attend New Student Orientation

What do you mean by first-generation college student?

The University of South Carolina uses the TRIO definition of first-generation students (FGS). The definition means any individual whose parents did not complete a bachelors degree.

What if my siblings went to college? 
You are still considered first-generation even if your siblings graduated or currently attend any type of college or university. 

What if my parents have an associates degree? 
At USC, students are still considered first-generation college students if their parents have an associates or two-year college degree.
