Margaret Smith has been educating USC Sumter students for nearly a decade in an adjunct capacity in accounting and business statistics.  In Fall 2024, Smith became an Instructor of Accounting at USC Sumter.

Smith has a Bachelors in Business Administration from USC Columbia and a Masters in Economics from Clemson.  She holds an MFA in photography from the Academy of Art University in San Franciso, California.  In addition to her academic achievements, Margaret is a Certified Public Accountant and has worked as a CPA for various local companies since the 1980's where she actively helped to improve the processes and technologies in this rapidly changing field.

In addition, Smith is very active in the Sumter community and has been a valuable contributor to a number of civic and community organizations.
