Goldwater Campus Nomination Deadline

The most prestigious undergraduate award for students in the sciences, the Goldwater recognizes exceptional students dedicated to a research career in math, science, or engineering.
Applicants should have a demonstrated record of research, on campus and/or beyond, and must apply for university nomination. The university may nominate up to four students for the Goldwater.
The campus process typically has a fall deadline to select nominees. Nominees are then matched with faculty mentors to finalize their application in time for the national deadline in late January.
USC has had at least one Goldwater scholar (and often more than one) annually since 1993.

Provides outstanding benefits and opportunities to students pursuing doctoral degrees in fields of study that use high performance computing to solve complex science and engineering problems. $45,000 stipend, full tuition and fees, $1,000 annual travel allowance; renewable for up to 4 years. Also, recipients participate in a 12 week DoE practicum and yearly conferences.
Highly competitive, portable fellowship that is awarded to U.S. citizens and nationals who intend to pursue a doctoral degree in one of 22 supported STEM disciplines. Three years of support, including full tuition and all mandatory fees, a monthly stipend ($3,600, for a total of 43,200 annually), and up to $1,600 in medical insurance.
Awards for study and research in the sciences or in engineering leading to master's or doctoral degrees in the mathematical, physical, biological, engineering, behavioral and social sciences, and in the history and philosophy of sciences. Three-year annual stipend of $37,000, plus $16,000 cost of education allowance for tuition and fees, for students pursuing graduate education. Usable over 5 years.
