Bio
| Background: | I obtained medical training [MBBS] from one of the premier medical Colleges in India- JIPMER, Pondicherry. I trained in Pediatrics at Brookdale University medical center in Brooklyn as an intern, followed by two years of residency at the University of Buffalo Pediatrics program. I trained in nephrology for three years at University at Buffalo and have been clinical Associate Professor since 2019 at USCSOMG/Prism Health Upstate. |
| Teaching Interest(s): | General Nephrology, Simulation, Quality Improvement Specific areas of teaching interest include Skill Acquistion, small group teaching and use of Artificial intelligence in teaching and mentoring. |
| Research Interest(s): | My primary research interest has been Obesity associated hypertension and CKD in children. My current interests include the effects of exercise and diet on cardiometabolic markers of kidney health in children with elevated BMI, My previous work involved projects looking at microalbumin excretion in hypertensive obese children, markers like MicroRNA in obese children or pulse wave velocity and the potential to predict hypertension early; Na-K ATPase pump's role in hypertension and the use of Doppler studies in obese hypertensive children. Other research interests include skill acquisition using simulation, developing innovative technologies for pediatrics and biomarker discovery. |
